What you can do

Arrange who is working and handle changes without losing sight of inbox coverage. Where to find it: Workforce → Schedules, Leave, Shift requests, Coverage gaps and Adherence

Before you start

  • Workforce access and appropriate staff-management permission for approvals.
  • Your team’s timezone and staffing needs.

Steps

1
Create or open a schedule and choose its timezone. Add shifts, staff, skills, breaks and any recurrence.
2
Review validation results for overlapping shifts and configured rest or weekly limits before publishing or applying changes.
3
Review Leave and Shift requests, checking affected coverage before approving a request or swap.
4
Use Coverage gaps to find times needing attention and adjust assignments or schedules.
5
Review Adherence to compare recorded availability with the schedule. Inspect the context of a discrepancy before drawing conclusions.

Example

Approve a shift swap only after confirming the replacement can cover the inbox and required skills.

Things to know

  • Scheduling and Routing enforcement are separate: review enforcement before assuming a shift changes assignments.
  • Schedule checks follow configured rules and do not replace your responsibility for applicable employment policies.

What happens next

The team has an understandable schedule and a process for handling absences and changes.

If something goes wrong

  • Shift rejected: fix the reported overlap, duration or rest rule.
  • Staff still receives work out of hours: inspect routing enforcement and current availability.
