# Review AI actions safely

> Let AI request allowed business actions and have the right person approve sensitive work.

<Note>
  This guide includes features awaiting release. If an option is not available in your workspace, contact StackShift Support.
</Note>

## What you can do

Let AI request allowed business actions and have the right person approve sensitive work. Where to find it: AI → Action review; connected app actions in a conversation

## Before you start

* A connected business tool with the required permissions.
* An applicable procedure or action policy and a reviewer with approval authority.

## Steps

<Steps>
  <Step>
    Open the pending action and inspect the customer, connected account, action and exact input values.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Check the evidence that links this customer to the external record. Do not rely on a similar email or name alone.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Approve only the action you intend, or reject it with a reason. Some sensitive actions require a different person from the requester.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Inspect the result after dispatch. A completed request should have an action outcome or receipt.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    If the result is unknown, check the external service or reconciliation status before attempting the action again.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Example

A refund request shows the original payment, amount and currency; a second authorized staff member checks and approves it.

## Things to know

* Permission to read a payment is different from permission to request or approve a refund.
* Approval applies to the reviewed request; changing its amount or target requires review again.
* A timeout does not prove an action failed.

## What happens next

<Check>
  An action is performed only within its granted scope and approval policy, with a result your team can inspect.
</Check>

## If something goes wrong

<Warning>
  * Approval unavailable: check reviewer role, separation-of-duty requirements and request state.
  * Action denied: reconnect or adjust the allowed scope with an administrator.
</Warning>
