# Profile and account settings

> Use account-level settings for user profile and basic account administration.

<Tip>
  **Live.** This area is documented as current, user-reliable behavior.
</Tip>

## Goal

Clarify what belongs in account settings versus what belongs in operations or team areas.

## Prerequisites

* A signed-in account

## Workflow

<Steps>
  <Step>
    Use settings for account-level preferences and profile updates.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Use team surfaces for collaboration-level actions.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What the general tab includes

* Account identity and immutable system identifiers
* Language, region, and timezone preferences
* Theme presentation and a visible danger-zone area for account deletion

## Where other account concerns live

Account settings is for who you are and how the product is presented to you. Password, sessions, and connected accounts live under Security and connections; collaboration lives under teams; cost and plan live under billing. Keeping these separate is why this page stays small.

## Expected result

<Check>
  Account configuration feels separate from infrastructure operations.
</Check>
